Norma Noordin for President (2025-2027)

Norma is a high-energy leader with a gift for connecting with others, and we could be better positioned as we get off the blocks and move forward with our plan to help more young people and grow our influence

The Vision

1. Empowering Youth Through Scouting & Leadership ~ To cultivate a generation of disciplined, innovative, and service-driven leaders through scouting.

2. Strengthening National Unity & Community Service ~ Uniting members of this Brotherhood through scouting by fostering camaraderie, volunteerism, and multicultural understanding.

3. Elevating Malaysia’s Global Scouting Presence ~ Positioning Malaysia as a regional leader in scouting excellence and international partnerships.

Realising the Vision

  1. Advocate for modernized scouting programs that blend traditional values with 21st-century skills (digital literacy, entrepreneurship, environmental stewardship).
  2. Strengthen youth leadership pipelines by creating mentorship programs linking senior scouts with younger members.
  3. Launch nationwide community impact projects (e.g., disaster preparedness, urban-rural outreach) led by King’s Scouts. Implementation of Community Based Scouting with partnership with National Training Team to train current leaders to be open-troop leaders. This is groundbreaking initiative since 2022 that has become a reality in 2025. Developing the English Woodbadge course for Generic Woodbadge for adult leaders who does not have registration with youth units > an opportunity for the Brotherhood members to be trained in Woodbadge from 2025.
  4. Promote interstate scout collaborations to bridge cultural and socioeconomic divides.
  5. Forge stronger ties with World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) to bring global events to Malaysia.
  6. Develop exchange programs with top scout organizations (e.g., UK’s Queen’s Scouts, Singapore’s President’s Scouts).
  7. Champion sustainability initiatives (e.g., YUNGA programmes) to align with global SDGs.
  8. I am a Global Trainer for WOSM Consultant and the International Commissioner for PPM. Being one of the lead ICs in APR (having championed the APR ICs Community of Practice), the same international exposure and uplift can be extended to this Brotherhood.
  9. I come from a diverse background and can speak Malay, Chinese, Hindi, and English. I also speak Spanish and Portuguese.
